Highlights for this summer’s conference include:

  • Special Friday evening presentation, The Real Rain Man, with the incredible Kim Peek and his father, Fran. Kim is a savant with an extraordinary memory who was born with agenesis of the corpus callosum, macrocephaly and damage to his cerebellum. He was the inspiration for the autistic character of Raymond Babbit, played by Dustin Hoffman in the 1988 movie, Rain Man.
  • Heart-warming Saturday morning keynote, Raising a Special Needs Child: One Father’s Story, presented by Mr. Fran Peek who has devoted his life to the care of his son, Kim, with absolute love and determination for fifty-six years. Mr. Peek, a retired advertising executive, is an experienced presenter with a long history of advocacy for the disabled on both the local and national levels.
  • A new conference feature are lectures, discussions and small workshops grouped into five major tracks under the headings of Medical, Therapies, Behaviors, Educational, and Financial / Community Life. You have the option to either attend the presentations in a specific track or mix your topic selections.
  • We welcome Adults 18+ with a callosal disorder to attend the conference presentations, and to participate in special discussion groups and life skills workshops designed just for you.
  • The Chamovitz Family, with the help of attending adults with a callosal disorder, will host the conference’s first Saturday Night Social in celebration of Richard Chamovitz’s birthday. Join in the fun, visit with old friends, make new ones, and be prepared to “dance your socks off.”
The Children’s and Teen’s Programs are available for registered attendees aged 3 -17 (limited to 60 children and 15 teens on a first registered basis) Open to children with a callosal disorder and their siblings, these programs will once again be supervised by KiddieCorp staff with supplemental help from local volunteers.

Since 1986 Kiddie Corphas provided high quality programs to children of all ages at conventions, trade shows, and corporate events throughout the United States and Canada. Kindly note both programs fill quickly. Check box on conference registration form to receive these Programs registration materials.
  • The NODCC encourages scientific research programs because it allows for advances to be made in the study of disorders of the corpus callosum. Research teams approved by the NODCC Scientific Advisory Board will be conducting research at the conference. If you are interested in participating in or learning more about these projects, please contact the NODCC’s Central Office at info@nodcc.org.
  • DCC Conference 2008 plans to offer continuing medical education (CME) credits for physicians and other health professionals in conjunction with Grant/Downing Education, a leader in accredited programming. If you are interested in participating in this program, kindly check the appropriate box on your registration form and information will be sent to you.
  • The Silent Auction has become a very popular conference tradition. If you would like to donate goods to auction at this summer’s conference it would be much appreciated. We are seeking items such as home décor, small electronics, jewelry, bath & body products, books, CDs, DVDs, unique arts and crafts, specialty clothing, cosmetics, pottery, sports items and memorabilia, vacation weekends and gift certificates from national chains, amusement park tickets, specialty children’s toys, knitted or crocheted items, souvenirs, gift baskets of any type, or whatever you think would be a great auction article!

Through the generosity of those who participate in the auction, the kindness of our professional speakers who donate their time and expertise, and the financial gifts from our sponsors and supporters, the NODCC is able to once again offer the affordable early bird conference registration fee of $150.00 person.

Registration includes entrance to the 3-Day Conference (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) all lectures, small workshops and discussion groups, Friday evening banquet dinner, Saturday boxed lunch, Sunday banquet lunch, and complimentary childcare in the Children’s & Teen’s Programs.

This year’s conference will be held at the lovely Crowne Plaza Hotel Philadelphia/Cherry Hill, South Jersey's largest hotel outside of Atlantic City. The Crown Plaza is only five miles from Downtown Philadelphia and less than 20 minutes from the Philadelphia International Airport.

The hotel features spacious rooms and many nice amenities at a $129.00 NODCC group rate (code NDC). Enjoy the Olympic size outdoor pool in a park-like setting, (bring your bathing suit), and the beautiful views overlooking the Philadelphia Skyline and the scenic Cooper River. Hotel Brochure
