Educational Strategies

Children diagnosed with a disorder of the corpus callosum may experience learning, behavior and/or social difficulties at different periods during their developmental years. This section is designed to assist parents in identifying certain difficult situations and offering suggestions for dealing with these issues.

The IEP Research reveals that students who who have accepted their disabilities, know how to compensate for them and have learned to identify situations in which they can prosper will experience more success during their educational years. This section presents information on how to become your child’s best advocate in the educational system including a description of the IEP process and hints for successful planning and engagement.

Behavior Modification Strategies Behavior modification strategies offer parents and teachers a tool for motivating children to meet their potential. This section presents information on identifying inappropriate behaviors and offers suggestions for ideas for effective motivators to encourage your child to be the very best he or she can be.

Socialization Strategies Children diagnosed with a callosal disorder may have difficulty functioning successfully within their family and in the community and/or may face challenges in meeting academic and social expectations in the school setting. This section presents information on how to help your child to develop better self-esteem and strategies to create successful interactive opportunities.
