We have dedicated this area of our website specifically to the needs of educators and therapists who work with children diagnosed with a disorder of the corpus callosum (DCC). The educational needs of children with DCC vary significantly, but the goals that each has is similar. These children want to be stimulated in creative, hands-on learning environments, in which unique learning styles are embraced and acceptance of cognitive differences are the norm.
Each child with a DCC comes to the classroom with varying degrees of neurological and developmental challenges and strengths. Here you will find tools to support the classroom teacher, a description of common learning difficulties faced by children with DCC, specific behavior management techniques to support a successful educational environment, frequently asked questions regarding DCC, recommended reading, and recently published research.
