Therapeutic Interventions

This section is currently under development and will include information on the significant developmental milestones in a child’s growth from birth through early childhood including gross and fine motor skills, language, cognitive, self-help and social skills with suggestions on how to recognize developmental delays at specific ages and recommendations for therapeutic interventions including speech and language, physical therapies and occupational therapies.

The child should also be evaluated by a neurologist, a neurodevelopmental pediatrician, or a child psychiatrist who might prescribe medications to help the child manage problems like Attention Deficit Disorder or Hyperactivity Disorder. If medications are effective for these problems, they can enable the child to achieve cognitive goals that might otherwise be missed.
